C. Searle earned her undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Physics at Bryn Mawr College and was awarded the PhD in Mathematics from the University of Maryland at College Park under the direction of Karsten Grove in 1992. She held academic positions at two different research institutes in Mexico: the Center for Advanced Study and Research of the National Polytechnical Institute (CINVESTAV-IPN) and the Mathematics Institute of the UNAM in Cuernavaca (IMATE-UNAM Cuernavaca). She then returned to the US to work as a Visiting Professor at Oregon State University and currently she is an Associate Professor in the Mathematics, Statistics and Physics department at Wichita State University.
