I received my PhD in Theoretical Biology from the University of Chicago and did a three year Postdoc at the National Institutes of Health. I have been at the University of Pittsburgh since 1982. I am a professor of mathematics and a Distinguished University Professor of Computational Biology.
I have written two books, a popular and widely used software package (XPPAUT), and over 180 papers. I have mentored many PhD students and many undergraduates.
