Arnab Maity is a faculty member in the Department of Statistics at North Carolina State University. Dr. Maity's primary interest is to develop rigorous statistical methodology in context of real data emerging from various fields such as biomedical studies; gene and environment studies, environmental epidemiology, epigenetics, nutrition etc.
Dr. Maity obtained his Bachelor's degree in Statistics from Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta in 2003, and obtained his doctoral degree from Texas A&M University in 2008. He worked as a research fellow during 2008-2010 in the Biostatistics department at Harvard School of Public Health before joining NC State on August, 2010.
Dr. Maity has done significant research in both theoretical and applied Statistics. He has several high quality publications in top Statistical journals such as Journal of the American Statistical Association, Biometrika and Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Series B. He also served as a referee for various journals including Annals of Statistics, Biometrics, Bioinformatics and Journal of the American Statistical Association. His primary research interests include semiparametric inference and efficiency calculations, repeated measures/longitudinal data, measurement error, high-dimensional data and machine learning, gene-environment interaction and epigenetics.
