The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Saint Mary’s College is accepting applications for a tenure-track position to begin in August 2019. Requirements include a Ph.D. in mathematics or computer science. Though the research area is flexible, the ideal candidate will be a broadly trained mathematician or computer scientist with an interest in teaching a wide range of courses at the undergraduate level, including computer science courses such as programming, data structures, and simulation and mathematics courses such as calculus and statistics. A background in mathematical modeling or the ability to teach at the graduate level in our Master’s of Data Science program is an additional advantage to an applicant for this position. Duties beyond teaching include individual interaction with students, directing senior comprehensive projects, appropriate scholarly and professional activities, and college service.
