Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Math at the Univ. of Hartford Position Announcement

The Department of Mathematics of the University of Hartford is accepting applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin in August 2019. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Data Science, Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations, Graph Theory, Combinatorics and their applications, but candidates in all areas of the mathematical sciences will be considered.

An earned doctorate in mathematics, applied mathematics, or related areas is required before August 1, 2019; ABDs will be considered providing they document a degree completion date. The Department of Mathematics serves a large number of students in the College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture as well as majors in mathematics, the sciences, and pre-medical programs. The normal teaching load is 3 courses per semester and the class sizes are relatively small. Candidates should have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and to scholarly activity. Candidates should show a willingness and ability to employ technology in teaching and to contribute in our active undergraduate projects. There will also be opportunities to teach in our innovative, University Interdisciplinary Studies (UIS) curriculum. Successful applicants will be expected to participate in departmental and school committees, advise students, and contribute to student recruitment and retention. Candidates with a demonstrated ability to contribute to the university’s commitment to diversity are strongly encouraged to apply.
