Ricardo J. Cordero-Soto was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Ricardo graduated from Universidad Metropolitana (UMET) in Puerto Rico with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics on December of 2006. He then went to Arizona State University (ASU) and worked with Dr. Sergei Suslov on Schrödinger equations with time-dependent Hamiltonians. This lead to Ricardo’s doctoral thesis titled “Solvable Time-Dependent Models in Quantum Mechanics.” Cordero-Soto defended his doctoral thesis on February 18th of 2011 and graduated with a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics for the Life and Social Sciences.

Ricardo works as an Associate Professor in mathematics at California Baptist University (CBU). At CBU, Cordero-Soto is the program director of the M.S. in Applied Mathematics. He has served various years as a senator in the CBU faculty senate. Ricardo has mentored students through research projects and continues to work with both graduate and undergraduate students in such projects. Ricardo J. Cordero-Soto is committed to having a mathematics community that is culturally and racially diverse.
