Jennifer Switkes received the Bachelor of Science Degree from Harvey Mudd College in 1994, the M.S. from Claremont Graduate University in 1996, and the Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University in 2000. After teaching briefly at Citrus College and at University of Redlands, she joined the tenure-track faculty at California State Polytechnic University Pomona in 2001.
Her primary mathematical interests are in mathematical modeling and operations research. She has volunteered extensively with Prison Education Project, teaching mathematics and leading STEM faculty seminars at a prison in Southern California.
She also is passionate about serving in Uganda, where she spent a sabbatical at Makerere University in Kampala. In addition to her work at Cal Poly Pomona, she serves as a volunteer pastor at a church, focusing on community service and mentoring of leaders. In her spare time, she loves hiking and camping.
