Baylor University seeks to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Statistical Science within the College of Arts and Sciences to start in the Fall 2024 semester. The successful applicant will join a dynamic faculty in advancing our core mission to provide quality statistics instruction at all levels; to make significant contributions to the discovery and dissemination of statistical knowledge; and to develop, within a Christian environment, ethical scholars, skilled professionals, and educated leaders who are sensitive to the needs of society.


We welcome applicants with academic interests in all areas of statistics but are particularly interested in research in biostatistics and data science.


The position is open to all qualified applicants with an earned doctorate in statistics or related area of study at the time of appointment.
     • Successful applicants will have evidence for potential for a highly successful research program in statistical methodology, statistical theory, or data science and will be expected to develop and maintain an externally funded research program with levels of funding similar to those of faculty in peer R1 universities.
    • Successful applicants will also demonstrate a commitment to graduate and undergraduate education along with an ability to collaborate with faculty and researchers in applied areas.
