Position Description:

The Department of Mathematics at Barnard College invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2025. Candidates in all fields of pure mathematics are encouraged to apply. All candidates should have a PhD degree, an outstanding record in research, and be committed to excellence in teaching. Duties include research, service, and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

 

Application Requirements:

Applicants must submit a cover letter, teaching and research statements, a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and at least three letters of recommendation (one of which must address teaching). In the letter of application, we ask you to speak to your ability to work effectively with a student population that is broadly diverse with regard to gender and gender expression, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion. The deadline for applications is December 1, 2024, and preference will be given to those who submit by November 20, 2024.

Salary: $85,000 - $133,000 annually

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
