We invite graduate students and junior researchers to register for the NSF-sponsored workshop on Data Science and Optimization, to be held at the University of Washington, Seattle, June 17-18, 2019. The workshop is held in conjunction with the conference “Applied Mathematics: the next 50 years”, which follows it, June 19-21, 2019. The workshop/conference website is found at
Student registration is free. Participants may qualify for $500 partial funding by emailing their CV and statement of interest to firstname.lastname@example.org before 5/1/19. They should arrange for one letter of reference to be sent directly to this address on their behalf as well.
Female students and students from underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply. Decisions about participant support will be made on a rolling basis as applications arrive and are evaluated.
Workshop participants are welcome to attend the succeeding conference, and they are encouraged to present a poster during the poster session/buffet on 6/19/19.
