Assistant/Associate Professor of Mathematics Position Announced at Pitzer College

Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont Colleges in California, seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor of Mathematics whose scholarship includes work in computational geometry/topology, or a related field. The Ph.D. in Mathematics or related field is required. The successful candidate would teach courses in their specialty, courses in mathematics designed for liberal arts students, the Calculus sequence, and other mathematics courses as appropriate. Experience teaching introductory computer science is also desirable.

The deadline for applying is November 15, 2019 or until the position is filled. Applications received before this date will be given preference. Campus interviews will follow in late February and early March, 2020. The Claremont Colleges (Pomona, Harvey Mudd, Scripps, Claremont McKenna, and Pitzer) have a cooperative mathematics program, with more than 50 Ph. D. mathematicians. Our collective organization, the Claremont Center for the Mathematical Sciences, sponsors many activities, including a weekly Mathematics Colloquium and several disciplinary seminars. The successful candidate could also participate in the intercollegiate program in Science, Technology, and Society at the Claremont Colleges.
