Governors State University is hiring two faculty positions in Mathematics for the 2019–2020 academic year. GSU is a regional, public, comprehensive university in the Chicago Southland (approximately 30 miles south of the Chicago Loop) serving a predominantly non-traditional student body of approximately 5,000.
The first position is a new tenure-track line in the department for an Assistant Professor. Successful candidates will teach mathematics courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level, as well as support Master’s theses projects. We seek candidates with outstanding teaching skills, experience working with non-traditional and diverse student populations, evidence of a potential or distinguished record of scholarship as well as community service via projects, committees and/or leadership roles.
The second position is for a full-time, non-tenure track at the rank of one-year Visiting Professor with the potential of one additional year of renewal in the primary area of Mathematics. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate Mathematics courses. We seek candidates with outstanding teaching skills and experience working with non-traditional and diverse student populations.
