2019 NSF REU at IUPUI

PROGRAM DETAILS:
Student participants will conduct applied mathematics research for 7 weeks (June 17 to August 2, 2019) at IUPUI with faculty advisors. Apply by February 8, 2019 (this deadline has been extended).
Participants in the program will receive:
→$4000 research stipend
→$450 travel expenses
→Apartment housing & meal allowance

APPLIED MATH PROJECTS:
Modeling treatment strategies for heart transplant patients (Advisor: Dr. Julia Arciero)
Modeling cancer cell motion (Advisor: Dr. Jared Barber)
Modeling influence of addictive drugs on the brain (Advisor: Dr. Alexey Kuznetsov)
Computational modeling of cellular-level tissue dynamics (Advisor: Dr. Andres Tovar)
Implementation of advanced topology optimization methods (Advisor: Dr. Andres Tovar)

This program is supported by the Division of Mathematical Sciences (DMS) in the Directorate for Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MPS) and the Division of Biological Infrastructure (DBI) in the Directorate for Biological Sciences (BIO) at the National Science Foundation (NSF)
